jaguarbass, you are not seeing this clearly - you are assuming science is like another religion, but it isn't. The difference is science completely admits it does NOT know the answers for sure, this is why everything in science is a theory. Religion on the other hand, as you said, says it is correct and everything else is wrong.

at my place of business which i own, i have discovered that the local jw's have taken to dropping in magazines, brocheres etc.

the staff accept them just to be polite but arn't interested.

but you know the deluded jw's... my business has quickly turned into someones magazine route!.

just tell them you no longer want the magazines, they will probably argue and say "cant I ask why? why do you feel that way?" just be firm and say thank you, but we don't want the magazines and don't want to discuss it, thank you, have a good day.

i don't know about you, but i enjoy doing comparisons, especially with wine.

felt like during and after each.

i think the music was intensely different...i really wish i remembered about my video ability on my phone for the 1st song, because the jw's performed their first new song out of the new song book.

I'm 100% atheist/agnostic and so didn't really care for all the christian words, but... wow, that song was beautiful music and performance wise - especially the first 1:45 or so

hi all, - firstly a new alias, so i can use the gravatar function...- ill be using both for a while till this one kicks in.. .

ok, so some of you know im dfd and my faded sister lives with me.. - today at about 1pm, the elder who dfd me turned up at my door.

i was in bed - ive had a cold for three days and a hacking cough.. james came up and told me, and i said im not well, but my sense of motherliness kicked in and i thought, its not for my eleven year old son to deal with this.

Sounded pretty harsh to me as well, I had a look in the guidelines and terms of use and couldn't see anything about having 2 accounts either - I did skim read it though. So how does one change their details without resigning up?

Russell seemed ok TBH, he didn't seem to tell others what to do or impose his beliefs, he was probably in it for the money but I also think he probably believed all the stuff he taught. As others have said it was Rutherford and Franz that turned the religion into the high control cult that it is today.
